Customer Review: May 11, 2020; Style Name: BOLT BUNDLE; Verified Purchase

“I’ve used a couple different wireless bike computers, and this model has quite a few things going for it.

Firstly, getting every thing mounted on my frame was super simplistic. I have to say having my speed sensor directly on the wheel hub is much better than a wheel magnet. That, and the fact that speed and cadence are easily removed for battery replacement was also a good design point.

Secondly I have multiple bikes, and the actual comp can sync up with sensors on either bike, so I don’t need to have computer on both frames; I just sync the one up to the sensors on the bike that I’m using.

I’ve only used the mapping function to track where I’ve been, though I’m definitely looking forward to using pre-mapped routes in the future.

Would recommend to someone who’s looking for a good investment in their cycling gear.”

Customer Review: April 12, 2020; Style Name: BOLT BUNDLE; Verified Purchase

“Just got my bolt bundle today, very nice looking unit. I really like how simple it was to set up with my phone. The only issue I had was with the speed sensor. While trying to attach it to the rear hub, one of the 3 rubber straps broke. Not a huge deal, I’m using a zip tie for now but its brand new. I think the rubber straps could be stronger. Otherwise, very happy with my purchase”

Customer Review: March 8, 2020; Style: Device OnlyPattern Name: GPS Bike Computer; Verified Purchase

“Really impressed with the latest from Garmin…the trailforks integration is awesome, i just hope they can keep it updated…I used it for a 16hr ride recently (no sensors connected, just following a GPS route) and it still had over 30% battery remaining when I finished…which means it potentially had another 8hrs in the tank…24hr battery, incredible. If you can deal with not being able to poke the screen, this is a  a great way to save a few bucks over the 830. Everyone under the age of 30…you probably want to buy the 830 ;)”

Customer Review: March 17, 2020; Style: Sensor BundlePattern Name: GPS Bike Computer; Verified Purchase

“I spent a long time going through the mountains of information on bike computers out there – which one should I buy? Do I even need those features? Is the cost justifiable? Etc….. I can say without a doubt that the functionality of this computer is hard to beat! We just moved to a new area and I use the mapping features (both mountain and road) all of the time! This is a feature that I didn’t think that I would use much, but it’s the one that I use the most.

My one complaint about this device is that it sometimes has a hard time connecting to my phone after a ride. I will usually have to turn the device off and back on for it to connect to my phone. After I do that it works just fine, just weird…. Maybe they’ll fix it in a upcoming update? Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints about this device!”

Customer Review: April 23, 2020; Style: Device OnlyPattern Name: GPS Bike Computer; Verified Purchase

“I researched a long time on this and finally decided on the Garmin – I’m really glad I did. The touch screen is really nice to use. It’s almost as smooth as my phone but the difference is immaterial. It works great. I found the setup to be very easy. Maybe it’s not as easy as using a separate app on your phone but it’s plenty easy. Plus, I kind of like exploring new interfaces so it was fun learning how it works.

I really, really, really love the integration with my Di2 shifters. I use this on a tandem where I can’t see the rear derailleur. Having the gear display on the screen is invaluable for knowing which gear I’m in when coming to stops or sudden changes in terrain.

The very first time I used it, I came back from the ride and “ended” the ride on the computer. A few seconds later the Strava app on my watch binged and confirmed that my ride had been uploaded and was ready for viewing. So cool.

One of the big reasons I went with this is the Trailforks integration. I went off-road and, when I wasn’t quite sure where I was, pulled up trailforks and got my location.

(I keep thinking of cool things)

I wanted to try loading a course so I could see how the turn-by-turn directions worked so I plotted a course on line and loaded it into the computer. A little backstory – I have hearing aids that pair with my phone. Phone audio is pumped straight into my brain seemingly. Guess what? The route guidance comes straight into my ears through my hearing aids – brilliant!

I really like this computer.”

Customer Review: January 1, 2020; Style: Sensor BundlePattern Name: GPS Bike Computer; Verified Purchase

“This being my first cycling computer, I’ve nothing to compare with, but this unit has provided me with all of the data I could want. There’s a high level of customization and the interface is pretty intuitive.

My one gripe is that the Bluetooth connection with a phone can be spotty at times, which caused the initial setup to be a bit needlessly difficult.”

“The Garmin like most of their products is well made. I have had some issues with it freezing or locking up. I called tech support and they had a new firmware so I downloaded it. So far so good. I wish the display was a little bigger but I don’t know if they make a larger one or not. The other change I’d like to see is I use it with a Varia Radar to alert me to vehicles coming from behind. The Garmin gives voice prompts like my average mile per hour, cadence etc. it would be a nice feature if they had a audible noise or voice prompt to warn you of an approaching vehicle.”
