I purchased this watch for my mom so that we could compare workouts and be “Garmin Friends”.
I absolutely would recommend this watch to “beginner” or “Average” runners/bikers.
My mom primarily bikes and we have found that this watch is more accurate than her Apple Watch.
We like how easily the screen displays bike ride analytics as she is in the middle of a workout.
This watch seems to last a long time on a single charge, even while in GPS mode. Much better than the other “smart watch” she currently has.
This is the most reasonably priced watch with GPS integration and a wrist heart rate monitor I found. I am pleased with the purchase of this watch. I believe she will probably use this for 2-3 years before we decide to “upgrade” to a higher model of Garmin with more “features”.”

I really like it. I would buy again. Not a perfect 5 stars. A few to many alarms and screen warnings that wear down the battery. I would like to be able to set one alarm, just when I exceed Max heart rate. But either it don’t have that or I have not figured out how to set it yet.
I wear it as a watch and for tracking.”

Customer Review: May 31, 2020; Color: Black/GrayStyle: Watch Only; Verified Purchase

“Look, im an amature runner. But this watch changed my lifestyle and for that I’m extremely grateful. I used to have the a different forerunner. I loved it, but the wristband kept breaking when I did pushups… i know what you’re thinking, dont do pushups with it on, you obviously were not in the army. Anyway, one day it just stopped turning on. On that day I stopped running (obviously, I had gotten out of the army) fast forward three years I say damnit im dont like the way I feel, I hate running but I like the me that runs. So i ordered this watch, shoes and ear buds. I’ve put in 50 miles in the last four weeks and have only taken the watch off to charge it.

I was shocked at the value the app adds. I love it, and its incredibly motivational. The calories are so obviously wrong, but my fitness pal corrects it for me and the two apps together with the watch telling me I did monitor sleep enough and to get some steps in on my non run days is absolutely life changing. I lost 15 lbs and I feel better about life. Highly recommend.”

“This is my second Garmin running watch. It is a significant upgrade from my old 405. The options are quite significant: foot pod, gps, coaching, vo2 max, rest time…the list seems endless. Don’t like using it for sleep tracking, but that option does seem to work as advertised. Overall, I quite like it. Menu options take a little to get used to, when you do however, it will significantly improve your knowledge of running stats and how to tweak them for the better. The only real gripe is the physical watch does not have a rugged feel and is very lite (although this is a selling point for some). Ill update this review after having it for a while longer.”

“If you were like me and wanted to see a review because this watch allows you to download music, READ ME! I’ll start my review by speaking about the music compatibility and move onto the watch features.

Spotify – I’ve watched countless reviews on Youtube and read hundreds of comments because I wanted to get this watch for triathlon training. 1) Setting it up – I found that the set up was really easy and was impressed when I first got it. However, when I went to update my playlist a week later the watch wouldn’t recognize Spotify, the Garmin App didnt detect Spotify in the store, and it was just a headache. Ended up connecting my watch to my computer and downloaded the software and attempted to make up workarounds to get Spotify back on. It would show on my device, but once used, it wouldnt connect. Finally, I gave up and thought about returning it or just running without music. About a week later, I decided to try connecting it again through the Garmin Shop and it worked! Since then, I haven’t had any issues with using it (past month) and am easily able to update my playlist. 2) Pairing Headphones – I have a Samsung S10 phone and it came with the bluetooth headset, which is amazing. I saw alot of comments complaining about cutting in and out. I did notice that Garmin does provide a list of qualified headphones to use on the watch and mine wasn’t on there. I would expect my expensive watch to be able to pair up with any headphone I have. Anyways, I have noticed cutting out when outdoors. If you are indoors, it seems the bluetooth picks up really well and won’t be much of a problem. When I am running outside it is a bit funky. If you’re the type of runner that wants to enjoy sprints and you pump those arms, this sucks. The moment my arm is lower than a 90 degree angle it will start cutting in and out really bad. However, i tend to keep my arms up while running distance and hold a water bottle, so the music doesnt cut out. It is a drawback and can be really annoying for most people, which is why I gave this watch a 4.

Garmin Watch – I’ve never had a Garmin watch but my favorite Youtubers have them all and I am a beginner to using them. However, it seems very simple to use and can used for the bare necessities. I know there are a ton of features that Garmin’s can do but I haven’t dug into the watch, it is a bit intimidating. But I have the exercises that I do on the watch, its response time is immediate. I have found the GPS to be very accurate within my biking and running – haven’t had a chance to swim with everything going on. And I like that it is all digital so I can change the face of the watch.

Garmin Connect – the app is really nice. Again, alot of features that I do not understand but they have “?” near everything and will explain what that specific factor means. As a result, I have found myself understanding my sleep schedule better, Heart Rate, my performance while exercising and so many others.

Overall, if I could do this again, I’d probably buy a samsung active watch. Because of the compability, i’d be able to take phone calls, text, and etc. easier without the worry of bluetooth connection. But I did buy this watch and am happy with the performance it has provided so I dont really complain.

I hope this review was useful to somebody. Cheers from Nebraska”

“My husband bought this watch for working out, specifically for running. My sons and I have apple watches, but he swears by Garmin and this was his third Garmin watch in 10 years. I gave it four stars because the first two weeks the mileage and his running pace were not accurate. He runs with a partner or with a group and his stats were pretty off. Now that it is finally syncing, he needs to take the time to add music. It was so easy to add music to my Apple Watch, but it is more of a pain for this one. He is happy with his purchase and is hoping it lasts longer than the two years of his previous Garmin.”

“I need to express how helpful and supportive the Tech-Boutique company was in helping me through this process. The owner of the store reached out to me personally to help and I am sincerely impressed with his approach to customer service and his employees. He was honest, he listened, and went above and beyond. He cares about his customers and his company. I will highly recommend this company to everyone!!!

I have had multiple Garmins and have always liked them. But they get old and get ….. outdated. This 735 is exactly what I need. It links to GPS before the front door is open. (I live in some sort of void and it once took my vivo 10 minutes to find GPS so this is important to me) It is incredibly accurate and easy to set. I had to get a watch with no touchscreen because I notoriously shut off my runs before I intend to. No accidents here. It will also last for a full marathon for “middle of the pack” runners. I tested this on a short run, long run, and treadmill workout. Accurate and easy to set- still doesn’t need recharging. This watch links to the RD pod with no difficulty. I ran with my vivo (original) on my right wrist and the 735 on my left. They reported very similar accuracy – with the difference accounting basically for the gap in hitting go. The 735 screen is easier to read, even in sun.”

The watch is able to do everything I want and much more. My only issue with the watch is that it is time consuming to figure out how to customize it to a specific purpose. For instance, adding heart rate on the face while running. I’m sure it’s easy once you learn the process, but the documentation is not great. YouTube videos are the best way to learn to program the watch.”

“I purchased this Garmin fenix 5 Plus Sapphire watch on March 6th and have been wearing every day since. Over the years I have worn fitness watches from Polar, Timex Ironman, and the Whoop fitness band (which I thought was fantastic, but I couldn’t stand the $30 monthly access fee). I have to say this this thing is the absolute BEST as it so functional for me. You can prioritize your sports and fitness activities so that you don’t have to fumble with all of the settings to get to the ones you want.

For the past two years i have been using a Garmin eTrex on my mountain bike with an ANT+ connection to an chest strap HR monitor and bluetooth to Garmin Connect & Strava integration. Being able to ditch the chest strap with the Fenix has been a total delight. There seems to be a bit of delay in my HR during workouts, but the Fenix catches up within a few seconds and its recording everything with decent accuracy. I have been running both the Fenix and eTrex simultaneously on MTB rides to evaluate the GPS accuracy, integration with Garmin Connect, and it’s really good with no perceptible difference between the two.

I feel like i have put this watch through its paces and it is so impressive on so many levels. Battery life is great particularly when you compare it to an Apple Watch (meh). I think I have been charging the Fenix once every 9 or 10 days and use the GPS for 4-6 hours a week during MTB rides and rowing. the other thing the Fenix does really well is integrate with Garmin Reach, so if you are interested in connecting your personal EPIRB to the Fenix, no problem. Get messages while you are out in your kayak, snowshoeing in the backcountry, or hiking at night. The Sapphire crystal face is holding up great with no scratches or issues.

This thing is great and you won’t be disappointed. Lastly, all of this COVID-19 quarantining has me spending way too much time in my home office and the “Get up and Move” reminders, steps, stair flights, etc. really let’s you know when it’s time to get off your fat a** and move around:) I’m such a fan and looking forward to see how this Garmin holds up over the long term.”

“Great for HR monitoring, the stress level works great on auto and not so much on demand. The music player just doesn’t want to work well so if that is a primary reason for the watch, keep looking.
Plenty of widgets and workout options to choose from”
