“I use these boots for work and around the house. I have owned at least 5 pairs over the years. Even though my agency supplies me with decent duty boots, I buy these boots because they have hooks at the top instead of eyelets so getting on and off is easier. The uppers hold up well, except I do get wear spots above the big toes after about a year. The soles need some improvement to get a better rating from me. After about 6-8 months of modest use (average 10 miles/week of walking on roads or trails), parts of the heels have worn to the point of having no tread left. At that point, they become lawn care boots and I get another pair. If they would move to a mini-Vibram sole, they would be worth what they are charging now. At $50, they are a good buy, but not at $80”

“I hike in a lot of desert areas so my socks are always getting dirty. I also hike in rocky areas, including lava flows. So I thought I’d get these to
1. Avoid getting as much dirt in my shoes,
2. Have better traction on hilly areas,
3. Have better cushioning on lava flows,
4. Although it hasn’t been a big problem with lower shows, I thought it might be good to get better ankle support.
For the first mile I hiked, the top of my left foot hurt. I tried to rearrange the tongue and lacing, to no effect. After a couple of miles the problem went away. All four of the above criteria were met. And the size I ordered (12) fits perfectly.
On top of that, I think they are good looking shoes. (I hiked five miles and encountered no one, but had there been, I’m sure I would have been met with oohs and aahs.)

I hiked about 8 miles yesterday outside of Bryce Canyon – a lot of the trail being very dusty! They did a job on my shoes. (See picture where I cleaned one of the shoes). Despite that, I got absolutely no dirt inside the shoes! Too bad I can’t give six stars.”

“I’d rate it a good, but not great, pair of boots. Nice look – fit is good – tread is good. It is not waterproof – I have not worn it in any kind of truly wet conditions, but in the snow & while my feet aren’t exactly wet they don’t quite stay dry either. I’d rate warmth to be in the 30+ degree range. That might sound pretty good, but I live in a mountain town & our winter is not ‘mild to moderate’. But, I am using it as a general knock around boot & it suits that purpose. I’d say if routine general wear is your plan then it’s a good boot – but I’d likely stay away if you’re looking for something to stand up to weather over extended periods.”

“This is one of the best shoes I have ever bought, I am active and on the run all the time and I ride motorcycle, with this shoes I can go on a bike ride and go out at night without feeling I need to change my shoes, they are stylish super comfortable and super durable, I bought the black one 3 years ago and I loved it and I still have it in pretty good shape so I went with the brown. And as price it’s super affordable, you can’t beat that. I highly recommend it to anyone. As it will always end up the most comfortable shoes u have and wear all the time”

“So while I dont wear these boots EVERYDAY. I work in the restaurant industry, so its non slips and tennis shoes more than not. But on my off days, I’m placing up these boots. Love the color, they fit as I’d expect for my gorilla feet.
I only have 2 suggestions for future reference. Find some nice insoles because they seem just okay at best. And I wish I woulda pre-treated them beforehand. The scuff and discolor pretty quick and easy. (Even though I wear them as you should without a care, I woulda liked to keep them looking semi clean and fresh for a tad bit longer haha)
Overall, I’m pretty happy and not mad. I’d buy em again for sure considering how hard it is to find shoes/boots in my size”

“I only buy hiking boots every few years or so when my current pair have run their course. When my old Keens needed upgrading, I figured I couldn’t do any better than those. But the Merrell Moab mid-hikers are hands-down better than I could have expected. If you’re worried that these boots aren’t waterproof based on the design, rest assured that they will keep your feet dry. I am outdoors quite a bit with my lifestyle and field of work, and these are boots that I wear everyday for long periods in the summer and winter. In the year or so that I’ve had them, I have never had sore feet after walking or hiking. The soft material inside of these shoes keeps my feet happy. and despite my rather smelly feet, they don’t retain stink nearly as much as my old pair of boots did. These also have good arch support and durability. Despite the many miles I have already put on them already, they look almost as good as the day I bought them. I highly recommend these boots, and truthfully, I don’t think I’ll explore other pairs when these come due.”

“First let me say that I rarely do reviews, and when I do I only give a rating and a very short sentence about what is good or bad about a product in my opinion. With that said, I am very finicky when it comes to my shoes. I have long and narrow feet (usually size 12-13 and narrow width) and I can almost count on one hand the number of shoes that I have bought that I thought were comfortable right out of the box. Boots especially always seem to have a long break-in period before I consider them comfortable.
I can usually tell right away if a pair is going to work for me or not, the question is just how long is it going to take before they feel good. I can honestly say that these are definitely the most comfortable boots right out of the box that I have ever bought. They are light, limber and actually feel good on my feet from the very first time I put them on. I have had them for several months now and can honestly say they have “broke in” and are even more comfortable. It hasn’t gotten really cold again since I got them so I can’t really comment on how warm they are, but I have pressure washed 2 big decks in them, and even though my pants were soaking wet from my knees down, my socks were completely dry both times.
They fit great even on narrow feet. I would recommend getting 1 size bigger than usual if you plan to wear heavy or 2 pairs of socks and definitely order the wide option if your feet are even on the slightly wide size. I definitely recommend these and plan to buy this brand again.”

Customer Review: April 20, 2020; Size: 10.5; Color: Black/India Ink/Monument; Verified Purchase
“I wear a 10.5 in all my shoes. Never needed a wide at all. I purchased the 10.5 black version. These seem well built but they are very very tight. I mean painfully tight. Plenty of room at the toe but extremely tight along the sides. Here is the rub, the 10.5 wide is $42 more than the 10.5 in black. Otherwise, I would have exchanged them for the wide version. There is no justification for the price differential especially when the 10.5 w in green was the same price as the 10.5……Go figure……Update 4-27-20 I had the 10.5 w in my cart and the price went down. So I said, what the heck, I am going to try the wide. The wide fits exactly like any other shoe’s regular. So the take away here is get the wide unless you have abnormally small and narrow feet. If you actually wear a wide in other shoes guess you are out of luck. I am moving this to four stars and will update once I have worn them and see how they feel long term.”
