The Foods to Avoid Eating
#1. Dairy Products
Delicious! But sorry, it’s a no-no! You need to avoid these as they could lead to tummy trouble and intestinal cramping while you are running or busy pumping weights at the gym.
#2. Fried And Fatty Foods
Yummy! You are surely craving for these especially just after your tough workout. Regret but greasy foods like french fries, burgers, nachos, pizza, etc.. should be strictly avoided as they have saturated fats not easy to digest and can lead to diarrhea or bloating especially if you want to lose weight and do cardio exercises.
Your aim is to reduce fats and not to add more – so, you just really need to ignore them.
#3. Spicy Foods
As we all know, some folks can’t even eat without a little kick in their meals. However, these may trigger a bad case of indigestion and you might end up feeling uncomfortable especially if your body starts moving during your exercise.
#4. Salty Foods
Eating salty junk foods like pop corn and potato chips can’t really do anything good to reduce some of your fats. You have to totally stop eating such kind as these lower the level of ‘potassium’ which plays a vital role for the recovery and development of your muscle in the body especially after your workout.
#5. Sugary Foods And Drinks
As you are definitely feeling thirsty after your intense workout and crave for any sweets like soda, shake and energy drinks, chocolate or candy, you really have to fight this craving if you’re aiming to lose weight as these lower the effect of your body’s metabolism and you can’t at all recover the nutrients consumed during your tough workout.

Great advice! I would add perhaps alcohol… It’s fun to have a few beers, but not so good when you’re trying to maintain a good healthy weight. What are your thoughts about salt substitutes? Are they good to go? For example I like using herbal mixtures that sometimes contain potassium. I know that too much of anything isn’t good for you, but it is a needed basic nutrient, I also like Cayenne pepper which, believe it or not, actually helps with heartburn! Anyhow, great article and keep up the good work!
Hi there xSF!
Thanks a lot and you’re absolutely right! Alcohol is actually the number one drink we should avoid as highlighted in my very first article – Best Fitness Tips For Beginners
Meantime, the substitute ( to alcohol ) you’ve been thinking is a great one as potassium plays a key role for the recovery and development of muscles especially during post-workout.
Grateful for your time.
Be safe always!

I’m so glad you mentioned how easy it can be to reach for a sugary drink after a good workout. Many people are fooled by the so called healthy drinks these days, especially with sports drinks, and they end up drinking so many empty calories on top of all that sugar! Excellent article, you were really to the point and gave no fluff reasons why these foods are bad for you.
Hi Sydney!
Thanks for the compliment!
Yes, you are right! there are lots of sugary drinks around and it’s so easy to grab one especially just after workout and we really need to fight for that craving because taking such can lower the body’s metabolism which greatly affect the recovery and development of the muscles after the grueling workout.
Well appreciated and thanks really for your time.
Be safe!

I have been working out for the past three months. I have never cared about what I’m eating after or before my workout. This article was an eye opener for me. It let me know what should I not eat after and before my workouts.
Thank you so much for sharing this information with us.
You’re welcome, Suhandar and grateful if you consider this article as an eye opener.
It’s always important particularly for an exerciser to avoid such kind of foods / drinks especially before and after the workout sessions as these have saturated fats that can affect the metabolism of the body – Your body always needs nutrients to consume right away especially when you’re into fitness.

Hi Jules, This is a great advice for everyone and I realize it in my daily life. Actually most of the people make such type of mistakes by not avoiding this type of foods which is commonly accepted in our daily life. My daughter some time requests for icecream and I don’t deny it. Even I also take some sort of drink and those foods which give me fat and affects my metabolism. From now I should be more careful about these foods and avoid to lose my fat. Thanks for sharing this important information.
My pleasure, Bro! These foods should really be avoided whether or not you’re into fitness as they’re full of saturated fats and sugar that negatively affect our digestion . As we’re not getting any younger, it’s always safe to control our cravings and refrain from taking these foods that can give us nothing but only make us suffer from various illnesses.
Thanks for passing by!
